On a late Friday afternoon, my brother and I were riding our bikes around and we were getting bored riding our same route, so we took a bike ride to the zoo. My brother and I were coming home and then we both saw a Labrador Retriever roaming around the street in front of us. I got really scared because I thought a truck or car was going to accidentally hit the dog. The other reason why I was scared was because I did not know this dog or the situation. My brother and I did not know what to do, so I made the first move. I walked slowly toward the dog and it came running to me. It was beginning to get dark, and we got a call from my mom; "Are you guys OK? You should start coming home now since it is getting dark." My mom said. I said "Yes, we will." So now we really had to make a decision. My brother and I knew that we could not just leave that dog. We went to the closest house and rang the doorbell. A man answered the door and I asked him if he knew the black dogs sitting by my feet. He looked at me and smiled. "Yes, that is my dog." I reply, "Good, we found the dog walking down the street and I was afraid that a vehicle was going to hit your dog." He said, "We were looking for him last night because he ran away. Thank you so very much for taking the time to find his home." As my brother and I rode our bikes back home, it dawned on me, I am an animal activist. A real animal activist always makes time to help an animal. You can save a life by taking it one paw at a time!
