Every 10 seconds an animal is getting abused and abandoned! Did you ever stop and put yourself in their paws? Did you ever think about what they have to go through every second of everyday? But this amazing teen named Faye Carey did something about it. While most of those teenage girls are either doing their nails or texting friends, Faye is helping re-home dozens of abandoned dogs, in the same way the 16 year old teen volunteers at her local animal control, giving animals that second chance at a new life! "It all started when Faye went to a week of experience at the animal control." According to www.3news.co.nz. "We saw a puppy in the pound the first day I went and on my last day he was still there! I felt so sorry for him. So I advertised him on TradeMe (A large internet-auction website) and he got a lot of likes! He went to a great home in Auckland." Said Faye. "That idea came from a Facebook page she made when she was trying to auction a litter of kittens. That page got nearly over 300 likes!" According to www.3news.co.nz. Faye has re-homed more than 60 dogs from the shelter. Faye still spends every Friday at the animal control. "It can be stressful trying to juggle, because I've got animals at home, chores, and schoolwork. But, I think it is pretty easy because I'm am quite dedicated to the puppies and dogs!" Faye says. "The pound receives more than 20 new dogs a week!" According to www.3news.co.nz. With Faye being there, when an animal comes into the shelter or animal control, the animal goes right back out into a new loving home. That is why Faye Carey is one of my role models.
