There are animals all over the world getting abused and abandoned. Lou Wegner is the teen who wants to do something about Pet Abandonment. Lou is no ordinary teen. He doesn't spend all his time texting friends, riding a skateboard or playing basketball. He chooses to help animals. In 2009, Lou founded "Kids Against Animal Cruelty." He wanted to reach out to other teens to let them know that there are millions of cats and dogs dying in our local animal shelters. Lou believes it is important to understand the responsibilities of pet ownership. He work very hard to motivate and teach teens that it is smarter to adopt rather than shop. Lou is playing a huge and powerful part in the battle for animal rights! He does more than just run "Kids Against Animal Cruelty," he also volunteers at his local animal shelter. This may seem to take a lot of his time, but Lou thinks different. "I think it's kind of easy because each day I go, I love how the animals treat me and how the other people I work with treat me." Says Lou.
"Lou is an inspiration to me and hopefully all of you. He is being the change he wanted to see, and he hopes other adults will follow his lead." According to www.3new.co.nz.
Lou is a true example of what an animal activist really is.
